Tragic Loss: Friends Rally for Family After Dad-of-Five Killed in Motorbike Crash (2026)

A tragic accident has left a loving father of five and his partner devastated, as friends and family rally around to support them. Gary Pidgley, 48, was fatally struck while riding his Suzuki motorbike in Louth, Lincolnshire, on Tuesday afternoon. Emergency crews were scrambled to North Holme Road shortly after 1.45pm following reports of a serious collision. Despite the best efforts of medical teams, Gary sadly died at the scene. His partner Tara described him as 'my person' in a heartfelt tribute released through Lincolnshire Police. Tributes flooded in from Gary's devastated pals on social media, with one saying, 'Gary was an amazing bloke who took my son under his wing when it came to his biking... always giving him sound advice and support along with a cheeky smile and a uplifting comment when my son needed it.' Another penned, 'A diamond of a guy. RIP Gal. Thoughts with all family and friends.' The police investigation into the crash remains ongoing, with cops calling on witnesses to come forward. The force said, 'We are appealing for anyone who was in the area of the collision or witnessed the collision to get in touch. We would also like to speak to anyone who may have video footage of either vehicle.' The family have asked for privacy at this time to allow them to start to grieve and come to terms with their loss.
